Gillian Daniell is a London based artist working with photography, film, drawing and site specific installations.

After receiving her MA from the Royal College of Art in Environmental Media, she was asked to design the sets and costumes for a new play at The Royal Court Theatre London.

The Winter Dancers by David Lan was about the displacement, change and the inherent importance of Place, Time and Memory . A theme that Gillian Daniell has been preoccupied with throughout the work in different guises since the 1970\'92s.

Her working process is initially research, along with writing and drawing out ideas which culminate in a series of works.

The choice of media depends on the subject and what ever she feels is the appropriate visual metaphor to capture her emotional response to understanding and making sense of a particular investigation. However, serendipity plays an important role in her making. Chance and coincidence and being brave enough to trust in her own intuition.
